Has anyone out there ever thought of making a cave undergravel for there eel? Well I got to thinking today about an idea instead of that ugly pvc sittin above the sand. Heres my thoughts.

I am going to try this with a 20 long. 3 main points of entering. front corners and somewhere near the middle front.

First off take 1/2 inch PVC and make like a W figure.

Spray with some kind of adhesive really think and sticky and not harming to water quality. Roll around in sand and coat the whole thing. It should by drying look like a natural looking W.

What you guys think? Sounds like a good idea? What would yall use as adhesive?

    sounds like a cool idea
adhesive, Id use aquarium sealant - super glue would also work, but quick dry time might mean you have to do it in stages

I have used a 2 part "liquid" epoxy to cover PVC and then roll in my substrate. I found that the epoxy is thicker and did a good job adhering to both the PVC and substrate....

That sounds like a cool idea. I had a snowflake morray and a huge conk shell in my tank and the eel would stay in there until i came around. He loved that thing would eat sleep and take cover in there completely out of sight. So i think he would like it.
