snowflake eel yawning?

    I was just wondering why my snowflake eel looks like he is yawning? every other fish in the tank is fine. thanks.

    check your O2, if it's ok, ignore it, just an eel being an eel

    how do i check that? and by 02 i guess you mean C02, right?

    no by O2 he means oxygen, and it's normal for eels to do that, that's their way of breathing.

    Yeah they look as if they are gasping sometimes, it is normal....They snowflakes are very pretty....You should post some pics....

    eels are healthy when they are breathing and when they yawn it is just there way of getting more oxygen. or its what they do to help digest a recent feeding but helping to swallow.

    +1...it looks menacing while you are diving over them, I get it now, but when I was younger I always thought eels wanted to bite me because they kept opening their mouth when I looked at them. Those curved teeth are scary...:)
