The nitrates is expected. A water change will bring that down. The current value is fine.
Nitrates the end product of the nitrogen cycle (in marine tanks), needs to be exported out of the system, very little leaves the system in gas exchange, therefore unless you are actively exporting it is going to stick around.

Adding one small hardy fish will probably be fine at this point in my opinion. Keeping checking the values as the biological filter will now have to adjust to catch up with the production of ammonia from the fish and decay of any food you provide that goes un-eaten.

I would do a smaller water change prior to adding the fish though.

Yea I'm on way home now from the store. I'm going to do a five gallon change think that would help? By the way I'm mixing my own salt water with two drops of prime per.gallon. in case that matters .. then on wemsday add a fish.

I would not add the Prime unless you have a reason to, but if it makes you feel more comfortable then ok.

Being able to see the values as the tank matures rather or adjust to new introductions is more important. Have the prime on hand in case you see another ammonia spike. Prime is only a band-aid. Great product, but not really needed in this case in my opinion.

Thanks. But did u say I could add a Hardy fish at this point? My three snails are alive and been alive for a while now. What are my options on stocking up. Since I'm getting to that point. I was thinking ...
    1. 2 black or the maroon clowns or the ones with half strip so many choices lol
    2. Clown Goby, Citrinis
    3. Spotted Cardinalfish
    4. Carpenter's Flasher Wrasse

    Also thinking
Inverts I want a wide array of what are my options there?

    Also for corals.
I have read that soft corals are best to start off with as they are the easiest to take care of for a begginer. So anything blue and purple is what ill be going with for this tank.

I've also checked out Foster and smiths and going to be upgrading filter lights protein Skimmer hob.

    What do u think?

I would skip the flasher in a 30...they need a lot of room to run back and forth. I've never had clowns, but I've heard the maroons are mean. Cardinal is good, and I'm sure the goby would be too (never had a citron).
Inverts you can get 1 or 2 skunk cleaner shrimp and maybe a peppermint shrimp or 2 provided there's enough rockwork for them to have their own places to hang.

Welcome congrats, ( definitely and impulse buy though).

Feed him well and research the diet, your average fish food is not going to cut it. Going to need some thing with marine sponges, algae and meats.

Angels can be corals and clam nippers.

I hope he does well for you, very pretty, enjoy :)

Thanks I know it was but I could nnot walk away. Lol but ill make it work. Ill get some food in the morning and see how it goes. Worse case secniro I could always give it too lfs I'm sure they would take it right if it got to big or w.e? Maybe trade me I dunno ..I like it... I think its eating the diatoms is that bad? But I thin its a cool fish can am excited to see how it goes. The Guy I got it from is going to give me a list of fish he regularly sees and catchs so ill post it and start a correct fish list. He is selling it cheap I think. Online this fish is about 50 bucks and 35 shipping so about a hundred bucks. I paid 20 and he delivered it to me. Btw is this a crime. He told me he has a license and there are regulations so I assume he is legit. Also is it okay to talk prices in forums I don't know if that's frowned upon lol but thanks any helpful advice would be welcomed.

Wild caught hmm. Yeah you need to be very careful in FL with the department of Fish and Game, the fines are huge.

Saltwater Aquarium Fish for Marine Aquariums: Queen Angelfish

When you need a fish ID or general questions about the fishes care and husbandry try liveaquaria.com.

I would not add any other fish for awhile just to make sure he is healthy and allow him time to acclimate.

" We are going to need a bigger boat", and you are going to need a bigger tank.
