I'm so excited to add fish:)

    I want a clown pair, 1 orange, 1 black/white. I like the diversity

In a 15g, in the far future could I add a ywg?

I have tried diamond gobies twice and they havent lasted more than a couple years despite my deep and mature sand bed. i dont have any direct experience with yellow watchmen but i fear they share the same fate (I may be completely wrong though) the issue with DGs is that even if they eat what you feed your other critters, they really need pretty much an endless supply of microfauna found in sand beds. a large refugium may help, and i have one set up in my current system but im still iffy about trying them a third time.

I make my own fish food to insure a balanced varied diet and even if iv seen my goby eat large pieces of the mixture he didnt last "long"

im not saying dont get one but I fear in a 15g you will need to wait a long time before your sand bed is mature enough to sustain one. how deep is your sand bed btw?

in a 15g you could try a clown goby, they are funny little dudes that will suctioncup to your finger if you feed them goodies. they may and most likely will nip at sps polyps though. mine does but he is somewhat well behaved. he gives the occasional taste but iv read these guys can literlly strip and acropora colony in a matter of hours. probably has to do with their diet and feeding by the owner

I think you could add a YWG. I would suggest a YWG and pistol shrimp pair - they have a unique symbiotic relationship which is cool to watch. You'll need to make sure your rockwork is solid because the pistol is a digger.

Diamonds are a different type of goby in that they are sand sifters which YWG's are not for the majority of their feeding. I could be totally wrong on that.

Excited for you! what is your first fish going to be??

I hd a YWG in my 55g, I absolutely loved him. He would sift through the sand but not like the diamond gobies, during feeding he'd swim out of his little home and catch food. I highly recommend them. I was mostly asking about the load in my 15g tank.

I plan on adding a small clown pair, one black/white and one orange: ocellerus (have to wait till tmw, no time last night)

after adding these guys I plan on waiting weeks before adding the YWG

there was always the debate of going with one clown and another fish but I always think clown pairs are so cute together. Firefish are beautiful but so very skittish, not a lot of choice for small tanks.

A yellow watchman is different than a diamond goby so I would not worry to much. A diamond goby and a sleeper goby are similar but the yellow watchman will be fine with regular feedings daily.
