For those of you following the threads, I have been talking for a while about my battle with crypt in my tank. My hippo tang is constantly covered in spots, and I lost my flame angel. So I decided to move all my fish into a QT, treat with copper, and leave my DT fallow for 8 weeks (with fishy water added, as per Dr. Frag's instructions).

This morning I had to disassemble my entire DT, liverock and all, to be able to get all the fish out (especially the damsel - he is really wily!). It is not something I ever want to do again - took forever, made a huge wet mess....but on the plus side I found my blue linckia starfish that I haven't seen for a long time - still alive and well, thankfully.

I bought a 30 gallon QT and a marineland emperor 400 filter along with a sponge filter for the QT. I left the sponge and the filter pads in my DT sump for a few days to pick up bacteria to kickstart my cycle.

I put all 6 of my fish in there this morning, fed them frozen mysis (they are all still eating, but are scared), and added the first dose of Seachem Cupramine.

Well, one day down, 55 to go...

Good luck, I wish you the best... REMEMBER Cupramine is different than IONIC copper FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS!! and get the APPROPRIATE test kit for copper!! You use more of it as far as PPM is concerned compared to ionic copper.

If you have any questions feel free to PM me, I do check them daily.
