So i found what I think are some mantis shrimp babys in my refugium. As soon as I get home Im gonna try and get some pictures to post up here for ya. Does anyone know if there is a website that will show me what kind of mantis it is. Being is how its a juvinile I would like to know what kind. I counted atleast 5 last night. Not sure how they got there. But its funny cuz nothing new has been added to the refugium. There about the size of a big fly right now. Was kinda wondering how fast they grow? Will they be ok in there or should I set them up another tank?

    Pics to come later!!

I would venture to say its amphipods but a pic would help.mantis fry are tiny.and are easily sucked into returns, drains, filters ext. If you think they are baby mantis I would take them out if you can.if you decide to leave them they will battle till there is likely 1 or none left unless they form a mated pair. If you do intact have them in your huge they are most likely in your dt also.you may want to conciser fish that are known predators of mantis in that case.

Its definitely possible, especially if you've added any live rock recently. Just a heads up, if it is a mantis, its probably not going to be some of the named mantis' like peacocks, greens, or carribean rock smasher. Definitely need pics though.

Khowst got one of the best sites for ID-ing IMO. +K

It might just be an amphipod will see. The kicker is I have not added any live rock to the tank at all so will see I got a vid of the big one and its hard to tell. So when i get home ill upload it and post it and you can tell me what it is
