During the school year I work part time at a greenhouse. I was doing some work today when I noticed this bad boy hanging on the wall. This thing is massive and the picture does not show how truly big it is. I should have set something next to it in reference. But next time I'm there I'll ask about it Maybe I found a new free source of RO/DI!

I believe that cinder blocks are 9.5" tall if that gives you anything to reference the size

    What do you guys think?

If it's just DI, all it means is that the DI cartridge will run out faster, and need to be changed more often, than if an RO was used before the DI.

Get a TDS meter and check the output, if it's 0 TDS go for it, just make sure you don't get in trouble for using it. :)

Even if it's RO/DI that doesn't mean it's good to use, it totally depends how well maintained the membrane/filters are, I don't know how sensitive the plants in the greenhouse are to the trace stuff that might get through, maybe they don't replace anything until the TDS reaches 50 or something which might not be the best to use in a reef, although it may be better than tap. If not well maintained it could be a source of nasty stuff, bacteria etc living in the filters which you might not want in your tank. I would do some research on it before using it, if it were me.
