    I work at a hospital and we have those water filters.... you don't even want to know what the TDS is at times. I was curious.

    It's not necessarily built to pull out dangerous compounds for tank use. It can have resins mixed to only pull out certain ions (like all metals), but leave others depending on the unit's purpose.
