my friend just bought a 29 gal biocube off craigslist. its really dirty, so we are cleaning it. we took out all of the original water and sand we could. we saved the sand and some water but its really green. should we use some of the original water or just start with new??
    1. should we use some of the original water ever though its green
    2. should we clean the sand or rinse it or anything???
    3. will we have to let the tank cycle or will it be ready soon???

i think most replace them with live rock rubble but you can clean them and reuse them if you want

I wouldn't use the sand or water either. No telling what was in the tank of what kind of chemicals they used. (ie copper).
If you dont want to use bleach and baking soda, you can use vinegar water instead.
