    48 hour update:
Skimmer is producing awesome micro-bubbles, and a bit of gunk is already collecting in the cup - this is great! One thing, the bubbles being ejected inton the tank are still an annoyance. Any suggestions?

It still should settle down some more as it has only been up for what like 2 days now. Do you have the white pad and the black sponge in your bubble trap?

Yes covey, I do. Now that it's been 6 days, there's absolutley NO micro-bubbles in the tank! Yeah! I guess it just needed to break. All valves are fully open and things are going well. There's about a half inch of gunk in the collection cup. I wish there was more, but I guess it's a good thing because it's telling my my water is in good shape. :)

I posted this in another thread that may be usefull to you, it is an easy mod on the skimmer that will prevent any overflows. I have done it with mine and it works a treat. A few occassions the skimmer went crazy and filled up very rapidly, however with the mod it automatically cut out the flow, hence no overflow, no mess and you can rest easy :)

    Here it is anyway....
