Yep, that's right. They've found out that I don't spray poison around my tank, and there's apparently an endless supply of water that area as well. I suppose I'm going to have to google as many Natural ant deter-ant/ ;D or pesticide that won't kill my crustaceans or tank inhabitants. Has anybody else had to deal with this problem before? I consider myself boarder line OCD on how clean my house is, but I know, eventually, nature will find a way. The ants are very tiny. Like sugar ants, but light color, almost tan. Not aggressive. Any suggestions will be seriously considered. TIA

what about traps away from the tank where theyre coming in? unless you have little ones...

Ah Ha I got it... you need to catch some lizards and let them loose over there to eat your ants... LOL...!!!

best part is that it would probably work!

No matter how clean you are, sometimes they just want water, to get out of the rain or to get out of the heat. Everything in my pantry has to be in a ziplock bag or they'll find a way in. About a month ago when we had a kajillion, we found the source of entry into the house and chalked it up..... we just keep caulking each time.

That's my first plan of attack...Caulk. I think they're coming in from the new cracks I introduced with the In Wall build. I think I'll use silicone to be safe. Once I know they're contained, I'll set baits in the attic to get them out. And Seriously, I can't believe you spelled kajillion right. Nobody ever nails that the first time....;)

Sorry to hear about the new invaders. Sealing everything up is usually a good first defense, but it's amazing what those little buggers will get in through.

    Speaking of in wall tanks...

    We need an update! :)

Use diatomaceous earth if you can find it and if you don't have small children that would get into it.

That's perfect. It seems that if it accidentally gets in the water, it wont bother any crustacean animals since it has to be dry to be effective. Thank you. Plan of attack: Seal off all inside access cracks and holes, apply diatomaceous earth to attic areas to push them outside of the house. I'll update in a few weeks and let you know how it works.

Glad to hear of a solution for you. We usually run into ants coming into the house in the spring.....I guess because there are more of them everywhere. I'll have to look into that product. I know my husband usually sets those little hotels up on the counter top and such and attracts them then they are trapped inside.....
