With the chromis it always comes down to then there was just one.. Nature of the beast really in a confined aquarium with no place to run or hide

Sorry for the loss it always sucks when they die. Not 10 minutes after we posted last night about our beautiful new Orange Shoulder Tang something took a huge chunk out of him. Not sure what did it but we thought he was going to take a beating until he died. Strange enough none of the other fish bother him at all and we have not seen anything in the tank try to harm him. Dont know what happened but thank god it stopped. Are your Chromis beating on each other or is something else bothering them?

I'm guessing many chromis can't adapt to aquarium life. I bought 3, within a week one disappeared and another got caught in a powerhead, while the last one has survived for over 2 months, even with two blue damsels constantly harassing it. I'd guess around 33% survival rate?

i think its just the pecking order, and vlow is deffiently not a problem thanks to my vortech
and thanks at least it leaves room for a wrasse and gramma

i think its just pecking order, i bought fish from this lfs for the first time ive been going there for water,, but they never have any fish they were in the process of moving to a bigger store and just happend to have the chromis they had 7 but i only wanted 5 and they were all in the same tank so i think i messed up their pecking order

yea thats what im thinking but its so sad

it just sucks, i havent lost anything up until my chromis

wow at least you still have the majority of them, i know for sure one of mine became bubble food

havent even had these guys for a week

think your right, its so sad though

i had actually thought about that, so i tested since i havent tested in a long time and everything was perfect 0 nitrate/ammonia/nitrite/phopshate

oh no! im so sorry about your tang! he was so pretty

im curious to see how long my last chromis will survive
