That would be cool. A whole refugee camp of reef keepers. I vote Divott as the one on the pedal-powered generator all day.

Off Topic Posting Rules - Please Read

    Hi Guys
30 plus replies and the thread is still alive
there are a few reasons why a thread may be closed down
but on this particular thread , there are 2 very likely reasons why it could be closed down

see the message from the man whose house we are in below

if we can stay away from these 2 areas
then the thread has a great chance of staying open

Ill tidy up any obvious contradictions to those basic rules
if you can all help me keep it tidy

    that would be appreciated

    sorry to have interupted

    Steve

Funny thing is even without religion which can be a lifetime journey to figure out(trust me I have scores of holy books here) the question is how things happened in the past are just as mind bobbling. Like stated the pyramids, not only in sheer size, and engineering feats, the amount of planning, organization and man power is overwhelming!! Archeologists have also found rain erosion on the pyramids in Eygpt as well as the Sphinx, indicating the area was once a jungle, or at least wet...

My father is a very conservative guy, stand up when a lady enters a room, take your hat off in buildings and so on, but a remember a few years back me and him were having a beer and he told me how he thought aliens created some of the worlds wonders and how the Sahara desert was actually formed by an alien nuclear war! Needless to say I couldn't imagine it coming from him.
My buddy and I were talking about this thread on friday night and it echoed many of these thoughts, how did humans do all this? Especially when much of it depends on the solar and lunar calanders and would take YEARS if not DECADES to plan? The original planner would die and it would have to be carried on by someone else....
His thought was that we were a colony left by aliens and in the early years they came to help us out no different than the British in the early years of our nation.

I don't think 2012 is hype, as this idea has been around for thousands of years, the whole Y2K was hype, that was different, that was the news hyping people up so they buy stuff... Like stated, the world will not END it will just end how we know it!

Again treading lightly with the politics/relgion thing, but regardless of what you believe answer me this? Why were there ever dinosaurs on this planet? And why are they gone?

The dinosaurs were here because earth was capable of supporting life and organisms gradually mutated to form the dinosaurs.

The dinosaurs are now gone because a really big asteroid crashed into earth and killed them.

Zombies. With a taste for damsels (in distress).

Personally, I don't believe a word of this. Interesting to look at and pick apart. Interesting to talk about and envision. But in the end, on Dec. 22nd 2012, I will be preparing for my boy's 15th birthday party the next day.

HOWEVER....it is a good excuse to get into firearms as yet another hobby.....and stock up on ammo BECAUSE it is fun to fire off rounds on the weekend!!!!!

Although there are a few theories out there, this one is the most accepted. It is an event that made possible our existance. Without it, dinosaurs would still be here. 65 million years really isn't that long. A blink of an eye in universal time.
