I have a 55gallon tank and after looking online I found a local seller with the following setup that he is willing to sell to me for the following prices. Just wondering if these prices are fair and if they will support my 55 gallon. Some of these pieces had mixed reviews hence why I am asking here.

Current T5 HO Nova Extreme Lighting-$100

Here is a link to the exact model. Current USA Nova Extreme T5HO 48" Model 1122

Magnum 220 Filter-Needs a new hose so only asking $40

2 Seaclone 150 protein skimmers. Both for $40

    Eheim 250 watt heater- $10

    2 Maxijet 1200 powerheads- both for $15

He will sell it all together as a package for $150.

The other question I have is the "hose" that the Magnum 220 needs is that this? Magnum 220 & 350: PR1401 Magnum Outlet Tube with Split Flow Diffuser by Marineland at PETdiscounters.com

Or what is it that I need to buy to fix the hose?

Seems like a fair price to me. I dont think I would use the SeaClone protein skimmers though. They may work for you to start out but you will soon want to upgrade.

it will be a FOWLR tank. I will probably just do a clown fist or 2 and some live rock. I will of course eventually have other fish too.

As of right now I only have a 55 gallon tank and I was looking for used equipment as it is my first tank. This guy happened to be selling his whole setup minus the tank and inhabitants.

So I was wondering price wise, with things being used, if this is a good price and if this is good enough to run my tank. or will I be needing something else?

Do they not handle a tank that size or just not a good unit?

I thought the same thing about the lighting but the price seems really good for compared to what i would otherwise buy.

Anyone know about the hose though? is that what I would need to buy to replace the worn part?

its a good deal. and with 4 t5 bulbs you can get some soft corals down the road if you like. also find out how old the bulbs are. if over 12months you'll want to replace them in the next few months if your doing any corals. but for fowlr they'll be fine for a long time..

you could always sell a skimmer or whatever your not going to use on ebay to recoup a few bucks..

Well if this stuff will work for now that is what I am looking for. I want to test the waters and ensure this is what I want to spend my time and money on.

Will i be needing anything else that you can think of if I bought this setup anyone? The protein skimmers act as overflows correct? I have been reading up on everything but I am still at little at odds when it comes to all the terminology.

good deal, especially if the bulbs are good.

New cost on all that would be over $300.
