ironically I moved from AL and am still going to Troy, about to graduate in 9 months or so. Thought about USF but I'm about an hour away. FSU is on my list for my Master's though.

I really want to switch over to LED's from T5 but still have reservations- some folks swear they won't switch because its tough to get the full color spectrum out of LEDs, also picking correct degree lenses, and acheiving proper PAR while still getting a look that is pleasing to the eye (makes colors "POP").
Think I'll try reefbrites to supplement my T5 before I would do a full switchover.

I agree. Doing a DIY build using RapidLED's solderless system in conjunction with my PC's. Hopefully it all works out.

got a rainbow monti today. Looks better in my tank than at the LFS which has MH and T5 combos. The whites provide more green than I thought. Even the algae looks better.

Its really a great idea to shift to LED products, as they seem to be reaklly qute great and enviro friendly lights, they consume less energy as compared to the normal bulbs so one can say that they are energy efficient also..

Nice list :) I just upgraded to LED and don't regret it. The temperature is true, suddenly I need to get a second heater in winter...lol.
