I do not have a dedicated GFO reactor so I plan on running it in a xp canister filter. I believe I have read you can mix carbon and GFO in a filter sock to keep GFO from clumping in a canister filter.....any knowledge if this is true or if this will work??

yes i meant to move slow in every thing cuz sudden changes in water chemistry will lead to unwanted results

be careful with pellets they are not as fool proof as they are put out there as. i wish these companies would say this instead of putting them out there as a miracle cure with no down falls. all i can say is read read read! even the most experienced reefers have had problems. playing with bacteria in your tank is risky business. i had corals and later fish die using pellets.

Yeah from what I have read biopellets have had mixed reviews. Do u attribute your fish loss to a decrease in oxygen caused by the pellets?

yes i do. i didn't realize what was happening till i lost half my fish. i than removed the pellets and turned my uv back on Which got the bacteria in check and the other fish survived.

keep an eye on O2 level its very simple
i found pb is the best method at all ...unless it ill provide a natural food source for all filter feeders
