Sohal Tang?

    I'd like to get some input from anyone who's had a Sohal Tang. My question is how agressive are they to non-tangs? I've never had one, but have certainly heard of their aggressive side. I'm considering getting one and making it the only tang in the non-SPS side of my system.

    No first hand experience. They are gorgeous!

    I have read that as well as being aggressive towards other tangs in the tank that they may not get along with wrasses either. Evolved I am sure could help clear that aspect up if you have any wrasses (or plan to get any).

    Not sure about other species...

    When the come in small, they are fine with any fish that is also there. However, if they come in medium or medium-large, they need their own tank. They are very aggressive at that size. Angels are like this too.

    As a result, I would assume they are a lot like angels if you get them smaller. Angels that spend most of their life in captivity are a lot more passive to other fish.

    Got one that's about 5" and it gets along with all inhabitants in the tank. I guess it depends on when you add it to the tank. It was the last tang I added in the tank.

    Mine is ok with everyone for the most part.he is king of the castle though,and does enjoy bugging my other tangs and occasionally other fish but no nipped fins or anything just chasing them around.I got him about a year ago he's 6incheson or so now

    Sohal tangs are great but they have a venomous surgeon(I think it might be the clown tang) and get over 15 inches:eek: I've herd of them terrorizing aquariums:uhoh2:
