For those who didn't read my previous thread, about 6 weeks ago I added a black trigger who became so aggressive that he was eating everything in sight, including all the algae from my tangs. Since there didn't seem to be any solution, I decided to return him (or her I don't want to be sexist about this) to the lfs.

As soon as I put the net in the tank, the trigger tunneled deep into the sand and under the rocks. Apparently he knew he was the target. Now all I have to do is show the net and he goes into hiding and I have no problem feeding the other fish.

They get their food; then I move the net and he comes out and I can feed him.

I don't know how long this will work, but for now my immediate problem is solved.

By the way, I was reading Yuri's thread on getting rid of his b*std fish and it made me smile.;)

I would still try to get rid of it. It will keep growing and get nastier and eventually eat everything that moves-smaller fish, inverts, EVERYTHING

I agree, but it will not be easy without taking out all the live rock. For the moment, I don't have any small fish or invertebrates. Even my crab is huge (see my photos) and my engineer goby is now almost a foot long..

I would suck it up and do it now before it's too late. Nothing...NOTHING in this hobby is easy. And that includes getting rid of problematic fish.

WOW! Sounds like you have some intense stuff in there. Make sure your rock structure is mega secure because engineer gobies, especially one of that size, could cause serious structural problems. At least make sure that none of the support rocks are in significant danger of falling. I just had to prop up a rock at the base of the whole right side of my aquascape that was tipping because my tiger tail cuke burrowed under it. I took a small rock and wedged it under the rock it was supporting. That rock also took away any space the structural rock would have to fall. If the rock that the structural rock was supporting had fallen, I would have lost the whole right side of my rock structure, probably some shrimp, hermits, snails, corals, crabs, and fish, and may have cracked my tank.

Wow, I guess thats kind of hard to follow... But ramble over
