...minus the mantis atm. ;D he should be in tomorrow according to the LFS. heres pics of his home, the cleaner shrimp i will be trading in for a 10$ credit. the 3rd pic is his rubble pile (or part of it). 4 & 5 are some newer corals ;)

tank is a biocube about 9 months old. its gonna be interesting trying to control those bits of algae without a CUC ;)

sorry forgot to add that. hopefully it will be a N. wennerae. My LFS said they can't order by species, except for peacocks.

just some things im doing differently i've read about; no PVC, i have great tunnels dug by my previous goby, i WILL be introducing a CUC after i have trained him/her, depending on the aggresiveness of the shrimp i may introduce a fish later on.

Congrats on the mantis build; I like how it is setup. My first mantis shrimp was in a 8g Biocube.

One thing to be note about training your mantis to eat frozen/prepared food is they need to have hard shelled prey in order to keep their raptoral appendages. If you do not feed them hard shelled inverts that they need to crack open, over time they will lose their raptoral appendages when they molt.

I just replace CUC as time goes along. If you have a way of collecting hermits/snails it helps with the cost of replacing your CUC. It sometimes gets annoying when you hear the unmistakable clicks and think "Damn! I just bought/collected them!" :p

Post up pics of your mantis when you get it :)

yeah i mean besides that fact that they are the coolest invert around, whats the point if it loses its hammers? LOL thanks though. unfortunately i have to wait to til tomorrow to buy it. but i cant wait to be spending 5$ a week on snails and hermits;)
