I acclimated for two and a half hours. She promptly went up under the lip of my HOB filter. She stayed there all night (until I went to bed anyway) and I was really worried she was floating and dying.

I jumped out of bed this morning and there she was, swimming and exploring. just keep swimming just keep swimming

So far, it's great color to the tank. She took flakes at the LFS, so I feel good about feeding her.

It's a firefish. Great for a peaceful community setting. Sweet new gramma........ Looks to be pretty healthy.

Saw a Red Scooter Blenny at LFS. I know these are closer to mandarin than Blenny (or I should say I think they are).

Wondering what some feedback might be? They're very tiny at LFS (<1inch) and they were all sucking in CC and spitting it back out. They wouldn't eat flake food but I did see them eating pellet food at the LFS.

Since it appears they take prepared food, do you think it would be a safeish buy?

I just added the Royal Gramma - I don't like adding stuff close together, but I'm thinking this things bio-load would be small enough...

Anyway, just looking for comments on it.

I would get a fish that serves a purpose not just looks good. You need to get a algae eating fish to help with tank maintenance. JMO

That's always solid advise otty. Thanks!

I know it's just an 'enjoy it while it lasts' thing - but the only algae growth I have is on my power heads and filter intakes... (knock on wood) (very slight exaggeration)

I had some starting to grow on the rock a few weeks ago, so I added an emerald crab... now I wonder if he'll have enough to eat. Part of me is thinking my bio load is a bit small for the clean up crew I have now (ton o snails and several hermits http://www.3reef.com/forums/inverts/clean-up-crew-53007.html). And that thinking is what got me ready to get the Royal Gramma - increased bio load.

So the only purpose I have at the moment is increasing bio-load should be an alright thing to do - not that that necessarily means I should get it, of course ;)

    Clean tank ;D:

sixlines are awesome one of my favorite fish, the chromis are very cool too and can live 15 years in captivity, if i had to make a suggestion i would say a yellow headed sleeper goby, look cool and keep your substrate nice and clean

normally at night my royal gramma is no where to be seen.

Tonight, it happens to be in a hole/cave I can easily see. It is laying, stone still, on its side (on the 'floor' of the hole/cave, not floating at the top of hole).

I'm pretty sure it'll be swimming around in the morning... but until then... is this normal?

My clowns swim in place all night, basically. So this is different fish behavior that I want to make sure is normal so I can sleep myself!
