some is WRONG

ok ok mike if you read this dont get mad hahah

i tested my ammonina levels several times over the past day (im cycling) but like 5 minutes ago i tested it and it had gone from like 2.0ppm to 0 so are nitrates and nitrites pH is 8.0 salinity is 1.024 temp 78.4 but also my protein skimmer cup keeps filling with water and there is a film on top of the water. any ideas?

 

Is there not a way to adjust the skimmer? You should be able to control the flow.

 

My skimmer cup keeps filling up with water, I wouln't worry too much about the skimmer being filled with water, this happens with new skimmers, just give it some time and it should start doin its job. and for the film on top you can use a paper towel and set it on the surface and pull it out if you want it gone , but thats not going to resolve the underlying issue

 

ya its a hob and ive moved the cup all the way up and it still fills up in like 5 minutes this is all of a sudden its wierd

I just barley got the flow on mine right, it keeps changing!!! but yea nick try adjusting the flow on it so its not overflowing and filling up with water

 

Run all your tests again to make sure they were right.

 

When i got my bio cube skimmer it was bran new and it did the same thing, was yours brand dew?

 

i already did i even re-read the directions and i did them right

 

GREAT!!! my friend just told me he poured a packet of water conditioner in my tank that was laying next to my test kit. is this gonna screw sh%t up?
