some kind of shrimp??

    soo yeah, i bought my neighbors tank...
    it came with a few fish/ shrimp

    i was wondering if you guys can tell me what this is

    it has red / white strips
    and it has a pair of claw looking things

    I have always known him as the Coral Banded Shrimp. As mentioned, reef safe. But he can be aggressive towards other shrimp and might prey on some snails, and hermits.

    These guys are nocturnal but you might see him inside of a cave – if you have night lights on your reef you will see him out every night. I love these guys, as I am a big fan of my reef in the evening. Enjoy.

    I've seen them eat small fish so watch out
