I couldn't find any ID's on this kind of thing, so I just want to make sure it's okay among my coral. I didn't take it out of the tank so I doubt I will find it again but it would still be nice to know. My cousin actually found it and asked me "what's this thing?" and obviously I couldn't tell him.

It's the white thing right in the middle. It's texture and color almost resembled that of a turbo snail. Mostly the white you see but also darker patterns that the camera didn't pick up. Some kind of juvenile perhaps?

    Thanks again!

Sorry but the picture is very blurry. Cannot tell for sure, but is it a stomatella snail?
Sort of looks like it?!?!?!?! Maybe?
Check it out: stomatella snail - Google Search
If it is they are harmless
Good to clean up algae :)

I agree with the above posts mentioning nudbranches.. Did it resemble any type of coral you have in your tank? Nudibranches often resemble the coral they predate on.

No it wasn't a stomatella, it was uniform in width from one end to the other. And it didn't have any sort of soft shell that I could see.

I don't know much about nudibranch at all except that they usually eat coral. I don't have any coral that looked the way this thing looked, either in color or shape.

I'd rather not bother them, hopefully one of them will stumble here on their own. That thing sure does look like it's headed right for those star polyps doesn't it? He's not on them right now though.

Here I stumble, but not with very good news. It's an arminid nudibranch and feeds on soft corals. That particular one seems to come in fairly often as a hitchhiker on clove polyps. You'll want to remove him and all his brethren, if there are any.

    Cheers,

    Don
