Thanks. Some of the pics were taken with my panasonic dmc-lz5k, and the others were taken with a borrowed canon xti with battery grip, 530ex flash, 28-135mm is and 50mm f/1.8 lenses.

Calcium reactor is a geo 612 filled with coarse ARM media, 5lb C02 tank with reef fanatic regulator. Milwaukee ph controller is also hooked up to control regulator. Via Aqua phosphate reactor filled with caribsea sea gel. Precision marine kalk reactor.

Sweet tank. I was wondering how you toned those pictures down. The lighting didn't look right for the amount of growth you had. I was with Steve until I saw the extras. Sweet coral, tank and set-up dude! I am looking for a green monti myself.

Thanks a lot everyone. I need some recommendations. My uv sterilizer recently broke. Long story short, needed new lamp, broke sleeve removing lamp, bought sleeve and bulb, new bulb doesn't work and cracked new sleeve. So, in my frustration I need to decide. I either want to buy a whole new unit or see how the tank does without one completely. Sterilizer I was using was a 25w gamma by current. What do you guys think?

    Let's start by saying:
"Who uses a UV sterilizer? and have you noticed any differences?"

I will help bump this one cuz I always wondered the (true) benefit of a sterilizer and if there was a big difference.

I had on on my breeder system to keep the algea growth down and keep it clean for the occ's to breed but when I removed it (I did the same thing you did) I didn't see any big difference. >>> That was a breeder though... I dunno about onee on a reef system. If it is that big of a deal maybe I should give it a go on my reef cuz your stuff is pretty!

Yeah we will see. I will most likely end up getting another one. Now do I go back with the current or go to the aqua uv hmmm..
