There is quite a bit of flow in my little pico because with the rock work i wasnt able to put the flow attachment onto the return. My macro looks like it might be getting whiplash? From what i have read macro algae likes slower water movement. What could i do to slow the flow down? Should i put a rock in front of the return or something? I could get a smaller pump i guess?

It could be as simple as not enough nutrients to keep them going. What's been your PO4/NO3 readings?

well i use my water from my other tanks for my water changes on this pico. My phosphates were at 0 and nitrates were at 10ppm. Should i put some food in there or something to give them some nitrate?

No, it's probably the flow. You have nutrient levels that would suggest that nutrients aren't the problem.

Since you are using "old" water for feeding this tank, then it is likely as Blackraven noted...flow...

In my refugium's slowest flow area is where I'm successfully growing red macro algae...but, only when I pull the GFO out of the filter.

You could put a valve on your return and throttle back your pump.
