I'm definitely an outdoorsy guy. Back when I was 12-14 years old, fishing was huge with me. We have stocked ponds in our neighborhood, and I'd just pond hop around fishing for bass and catfish. I tried fly fishing until my dad broke my reel, and my best memory with fly fishing is catching a crappie on one. I got it in, saw what it was, and was like "WHAAAAT???" I've also caught catfish while using LM Bass lures...so to each fish his own I guess.

Then I got a job at a local hobby store and got into Remote Control vehicles. Mainly planes and cars. I miss flying :( Plus through that job I learned all sorts of micro mechanical stuff, and I can conidently take apart an entire nitro fueled car and engine and reassemble it, no trouble at all. I also miss the smell of burning Nitromethane while racing neighborhood cars with my 1/8 scale buggy :D So that hobby taught me a ton, including adhesive tricks and stuff, and how to solder and wire electrical components. But dropping $300-$500 for each vehicle started getting a little old, so when I quit my job at the hobby store I basicly drove or flew all I had until I couldn't keep them up and running unless I did some serious repair work, and then I put that hobby up onto my internal shelf, and I hope to get back into it some day.

And my great outdoor loves are kayaking, climbing, and hiking. I'm in my college's climbing and kayaking clubs, and I can be found in a kayak every other tuesday night, and you can find me in the college indoor climbing/bouldering area almost every monday and thursday. I try to get out and hike as much as I can. In fact, a bddy of mine and I are setting up a trip soon where we're exploring an abandoned coal mine in a Pocket Wilderness Preserve 15 minutes from our neighborhood.

I also loved skiing. Water or snow, and for a first timer each time I was quite good at them. I can't snow ski in Tennessee, because you need snow to do that  And we have no boat or access to a boat, so water skiing is out of the picture. But, my dream state to live in is Colorado, so I'd love to get some skiing done in my life.

And last but not least, I am SCUBA certified and I'm looking into my college's SCUBA club next semester. I'm already signed up for a SCUBA Rescue and Accident Management class for Tuesday nights next semester, and i have no other classes on Tuesday or thursday. So next semester is going to be like this: tuesday: SCUBA 6-8, kayaking club 8-10. thursday, climbing 3-whenever, SCUBA club that evening. Life is busy, but I'd rather be busy doing this sort of stuff than anything else :)

One of my old loves in highschool was pole vaulting, it was awesome. But I guess it was just a highschool thing.

When I can afford an MSF Course (that I hope to take this summer) and a bike, my next hobby will be motorcycles. According to my parents, I can't buy one while living under their roof. But I hope to fix that in a few months anyways. :D

I'm big into rocketry...Last rocket I built was over 6" tall. Ran on a single E engine. And I also collect stamps? (acquired from my father, who acquired it from his father...so it's been in the family).

Besides aquariums, I love photography and taking my telescope out on a good clear night. I even took a special training course on my college campus so now I can check out a key and use their big 30 inch telescope.

My brother an I own a camp out in the middle of the Everglades so I do quite a bit of hunting when I can get away. Even though I work with boats all day, I also do alot fishing. I'm into gun collecting and spend alot of time on the range. Been riding and racing dirt bikes since I was a kid, but don't have as much time or money for that anymore (just had twin girls).

I have tons of hobbies, they almost take all of my time other than School..
1st right now would have to be my reef.. Its right in my house, so I can mess with and enjoy it on a daily basis.
My other hobby is flying. I love flying so much and have been a private pilot for 3 years now. There is nothing more beautiful than going up for a sunset cruise and then fly around the city after the lights go out.. I love that.

I am also an avid outdoorsmen. I Shoot Skeet on a regular basis and go hunting for a variety of animals when I am back home on my parents ranch in Texas where we have 15 different exotic species from around the globe. My favorite type of hunting is currently boar hunting with a bowie knife, there is no greater adrenaline rush than this. (no flaming me here if you are anti-hunting as I dont flame you for being anti-anti-hunting, to each their own so lets be friends:) )Also, I wont post hunting pics on here for sensitivity issues, after-all this is a family forum.. If your curious, you can PM me.

I am also a deep sea fishermen, more in the past when I lived only two hours from our house and boat on the gulf, I miss it even more now that my parents got a new offshore boat, a Contender 33 open with triple 250 hp engines, it screams on the water!
heres a pic on a calm day 75 miles offshore.

And at full throttle burning 75 GPH, not exactly "green"

I love deep sea fishing, you really just never know what you are going to pull up. I also make a big trip every year to Guatemala to target Sailfish (70-110 lbs) and Blue Marlin (250 + lbs). Pulling in a blue marlin is an incredible feat and totally worth it. For billfish I follow catch and release, because they are great animals which should go on to help our oceans.

Other than all of this, I love to cook.. I cook almost every meal that my roomate and I eat and there is a great joy to creating great food from a variety of ingredients. I love good food and this allows me to enjoy what I want without having to spend twice as much for it at a restaurant.
    Lobster, Salmon, Artichoke, Asparagus.. Delicious!

Oh I also have quite a large rock and fossil collection, I am a geologist, so it comes with the trade.. haha

I think Ill share some pics, Its my day off and I have nothing to do as of yet..

    me 2 (the rockets)

Didn't you and I already discuss this a while back on a similar thread?

My brother and I have talked about doing this several times. These animals are way over populated on some family land in Texas.

Any tips or suggestions? We were thinking tackling and making the jug slit (well aware of the dangers of boars, their strength, and their teeth).
