Thats the main reason I hunt them. they cost us tons of money in cattle losses and breaking fences and livestock feeders, no to mention they tear up the grounds and are almost predatory towards smaller livestock. Also they breed 4 times a year with a litter of up to 10.. so one pig can bring over 40 piggies in one year.. we have an over infestation of thousands and thousands..

As far as how to hunt them with a knife, there are three camps of thought here. One is using dogs to track and bay the boar. Baying is when the dominant dog will either grab the ear or tail and spin to confuse the boar until you step in and go right behind the shoulder blade.
Two is to trap them and then challenge the animal in an enclosure(this is the more controversial way, more of like the ancient roman method). You have a larger outdoor pen, ours is about 200 feet by 150 feet near our equipment room to release them to fight us without guns or dogs.. just the boar vs you and a knife, its scary as hell but you cant beat it. They charge you and you have to stand your ground until you move and try to hit your spot, if not, you have a pissed of piggy coming for round two..
Three is caged, I dont condone this. Unless you are going for clearing them from your land to save your livestock and crops, then this is the most effective way.. Also you can just hunt them regularly over corn on the ranch roads, but thats boring once you've done it with a knife.. Man vs Nature.
If you want I can send pics or vids of such..

(no flaming people, I dont judge others on the things they do)

Well then... Casino's, lottery tickets, and horsetracks ;)

On a serious note: I consider reefing my main hobby that I put a lot of effort, time, and money into. I love to do all sorts of other things that make life great... Such as, electronics, fishing, camping, road trips, vacationing, and taking any oppurtunity to get out and doing something new.

I kinda like to fish every once and a while, but I'm REALLY into billiards. Last year I gutted and totally re-worked an old 8' coin op table. My "free craigslist pool table" turned into a 3 month $800 project, but it was totally worth it. I also made a light to match, and re-worked a cue-holder / dart board cabinet to match the set.
