Ok, just bought a new mushroom coral rock. I have noticed over 10 tentacles coming from the rock. The tentacles are white with black striped and little tiny bristles on them. They are coming up right next to the mushrooms and the mushrooms dont seem to mind.

I have heard of bad things with serpent starfish, or things like that. Here are the pics.

I dont know if i need to find a way to remove them or not....

Micro-brittlestar. They always stay small. They are great detrivores.

so do i need to pull them out, or are they okay?

I love my coral beauty, gobies, and royal gramma. I have heard of starfish eating fish. This shouldnt be a problem right?

These guys never get big enough to eat anything besides detritus and maybe and occasional pod

Pretty soon, you will have millions of them. Well maybe not millions, but they multiply pretty fast.

I suppose they are like their larger cousins and only move when they have to. I have had a few brittlestars in two different tanks. When there are no rocks, they move around. When there are rocks, they stay put until the food supply is exhausted in the area, then move. Then sit tight again for awhile. A lazy life they live.
