    To offset being opinionated lol the common non peroxide method is to:

    Run lights out while making a measurable change in phosphate levels
    Dose tech m to 1800ish

    This can shock it into submission

    I opt for peroxide simply because its so fast

    But before use, cuz it can kill of done wrong, id google this giant thread 'pico reef pest algae problem challenge'

    how long can u keep the lights off? 24hrs or 48hrs? i also read that hydrogen peroxide can also be dosed directly in the tank on the algae leaving the powerheads off for 3 mints......

    i'm surprised your hermits wouldn't pick at that grass, mine love stuff like that, especially the thin striped hermits.
