    they are cool but it likely will not get much bigger. i have a few and they are all very tiny. i have had a few die off, but some of them have been on my LR since i started my cycle.

    hehe, yeah I've been lucky with that rock so far, it was $6/lb and so far on that rock I got:
    * 4 clams
    * 3 ayptasia (dead now)
    * 4 feather dusters
    * plenty of tube worms (the kind that put the white strings out to catch stuff)
    * some stony corals
    * baby britle sea star
    * and now this coral ... I have to find out what it's called lol

    It's a non-photosynthetic dendrophyllia.

    You would have to poke it with your finger to upset it so I could ID it by species. For instance a Balanophyllia would have a skeleton that looks like an 8. However, if you're comfortable just knowing it's a safe coral and won't hurt anything else, then you know it's from the Dendrophyllia Genus

    ah !!!! makes sense now ! It's on the same rock as these, so I am guessing it's the same thing just much larger !!!

    It's the same Genus but a different species.

    Micro-dendrophyllia are actually quite expensive coral to procure. Dude....you scored!!!!
