i found a small cluster of what appears to be an anemone looks kinda like ity bity BTA's. I never thought anything of it but they are all bleaching. they started out with green in the center and brown bubble tenticles. You can kinda see one that is just starting out and hasn't bleached yet just down and to the left of the large 3 white ones. kinda remind me of a zoanthid colony how they are clustered.

Any ideas what they are? Why are they bleaching? Is this a pest or unwanted like aptasia??

All other corals and anemones are fine. even had a small corkscrew anemone that was bleached and it has gotten its color back so i'm alittle confused why these things are bleaching out.

Yeah, I figured they are a pest of some sort as my LFS doesn't often miss stuff like that on LR they sell unless it's something not wanted. I kill my aptasia with lemon juice that you buy and suck it up into a small syrnge and inject the center, i've never had any ill effects and it always did the job the first time. Can I do the same procedure with the majanos?

I have a cluster of about 5-6 all about the size of a 5 cent coin, can I kill them all or do I kill em one at a time?

Any reason why they are bleaching and nothing else? Just curious why these majanos don't do well and my other corals and nem's are fine.

are they going to poison the water when i kill them off? i've noticed their colony is much larger than i first noticed. If they weren't bleached they look ok, why are they considered a pest? just cause they multiply quick? Do they get large?

    lol thats funny..

you might wanna do what yellow tang mentioned( maybe taking the whole rock out, treat it outside and then put it back in). im not sure this anemones will do harm if you kill them with lemon juice or something like that.. they could though.
