Looks like a colt, but I have not seen them with pink/red like that.

Good possiblity it is a carnation, problem w/ "colt" type corals is they encompass many different genus, making ID, tricky.

its a carnation.they have no chance of survival in captivity.it will wither away in 6months time.sorry.i see them for sale all the time.they should be ban.garf.org had them for a couple yrs.they had them in a 55 gallon tank and fed so much that they had 4 other tanks with all kind of filters in each in order to filter out the waste from feeding.their tank leaked and they all died.so far they are the only known success.well one person kept one for a yr on reefcentral but it was a freak.theres over 25 pages of forum on carnations there and all have died including the one i was suckered into.

Actually, I'm not too sure about the carnation anymore, I thought it was at first but the second pic made me lean more towards a litophyton or a nepthea upon view.

It does look quite different than the other one I have that I know for sure that is a carnation. (moron said they weren't carnations when I specifically asked and yes I know it's my responsibility not his) However the white "stalk" part of the purple one almost resembles the white stalk part of the pink one I have. Here are the pics of the pink one...

I think the first pic is better, it clearly shows the characteristics of the carnation. I'm pretty sure he will take them back for credit (like the sea apple which he said he would) I just need to get ahold of him and make a time to meet at the farm (which he's not always at).

    ugh

    what a sucker i am

You don't need to infer it, I'm admitting it...!
