Old Fish Keeper. I just did some research on Dino's. This does not seem to be the problem at all as i am not experiencing the problems or see bubbles. What ever is going on seems to be diatom's????? This is so weird though like my sand was pearly white and in one day it looked like that. what is also weird is that it only effects the sand. it is not spreading to my rock or the walls of the tank.

    You need a cleanup crew.

i have 2 big snails, a cleaner shrimp and an emerald crab. Is that not enough for the size of this tank

No, I have probably 100 + snails in my 40 breeder. There are specific ones that focus on the sand bed even. Check out reefcleaners.org

If what you have is diatoms, you will have to wait until your tank balances out again before it starts to subside. In the meantime, get a cleanup crew as suggested. I'm assuming that the algae is diatoms and not dinos or cyanobacteria.

I had no idea it required that many snails. my tank is stableizing but the brown is still there as said before the marine life in the tank is ok. but i just find it odd that it turned so brown so fast. and never has done that before. I will post updates thanks all for the advice

Yea, it sounds to me like it started re-cycling and diatom outbreak after the deep clean. Probably removed too much beneficial bacteria. haha

Did the two new fish also happen to be the largest?

Any updates on this? Would love to know if it was indeed diatoms.
