ok so i currently have a 24 gallon nanocube. i want to have a 10 gallon display fuge to get a nice pod population as well as grow some nice macros.. i will have the fuge above the display therefore i need to go wth the gravity fed fuge..

please does anyone know how to go about with this.. it will truly be appreciated..

also if i get the fuge running will i need to have a skimmer? i have a sapphire skimmer but it has mods to it and i dont know exactly how to get it running..

    thanks again,
    derek

Since the fuge will be above the DT, your gravity feed (i.e. overflow) will need to be on the fuge with the return pump in the DT.

The fuge should reduce your need for a skimmer, although with a tank that size, a skimmer is not necessary at all. just check nutrient levels weekly and perform water changes accordingly.

You don't have to drill it, they make over flow boxes with u-tubes, so no drilling needed.

+1. You should get a good brand, though; some cheaper units have a nasty habit of losing siphon causing a flood. :-/

+1 just keep an eye on it and make sure no algae build up blocks up the tube.

Drilling is always the safer way to go though. Check in with LFS in your area and see if any of them offer drilling.

I'm not afraid to drill.. I have helped a friend drill and tank and I'm sure he will help me.. But the question after I drill is.. Should I have an overflow box or just bulkheads?

Once again thanks everyone it is greatly appreciated

Personally, I would install the overflow box. That will help keep foreign objects (such as your macros) from ending up in the DT, or worse, blocking the drain.
