+1 to everyone that says freshwater arent as exciting.

I have had a 2ft freshwater for a while before I moved into my first 55g marine. My marine only has 4 fish, and already leaves the freshwater fish for dead.

Im not going to abandon my freshwater fish, but if I had gone marine first I definately wouldnt have gone back.

Very cool idea :) It'll basically take care of itself for the most part.

If he has enough time (and money, of course :)) then why not? You could also save some money by raising some brine or mysis shrimp.

Yeah! Blows the cheap out of the water but a seahorse tank wouldn't be too bad on that level! I have all the equipment! Oh well for cheap!

Seahorse tanks are absolutely not cheap. A new tank will never feed an adult seahorse, an old one wouldn't even do it, IME. The size of a CPR fuge will never sustain them. It's a great thing to have, as it will provide lovely little snacks, but that's about it. We had a macro pod haven. He cleaned it out in 4 days. They will absolutely gorge themselves. They don't have real stomachs so they will sit there and eat and eat and eat and..... you get the point.
