Something alive on my live rock! *video*

Ok, I spotted this on my live rock last night. I'm wondering if it is an itty bitty feather duster??.... Anyway, take a look at my new video because I have some funky black and green stuff on my live rock too. I just got my tank up and running with the live rock about a week and a half ago (added the dead shrimp last night)....

 

feather duster i would guess, it looks like it sucked in at the end there.

 

I have a bunch of those, does it look like this?

Black thing is probably a chicken liver sponge. Not bad.

 

Its a calcium tube fan worm... (thousands of species) They are common on live rock and remain faily small some are individule some live in colonies and can be any color under the rainbow. but not typically ornate like the coco or other larger silk/leather tube worms.

The 'black' thing looks like a dieing sponge. Visit reefcleaners.org and see about a starter pack cleaning crew. Live rock does often have many good suprizes but sometimes bad ones too. They also ALWAYS come with dead or dieing sponges. In time the live roock will come ALIVE! Nice Start =)
