It would be best to take a water sample in a clean container to a local fish store.A sample of about 12oz. should be enough. The store that sold you your fish should be able to test it for you and help explain what the tests mean. While there, tell them what you have in your tank and the problems your having, they might (and should) take back some of the fish and offer store credit that could be used for test kits.

This is what really pisses me off. This is why things in the ocean are starting to go whacko. Let me guess miataliker, you filled up the tank, got restless, got a clown, thought he was lonely and went to buy an anemone....seriously people... This person stripped an anemone off the reef every two weeks..Please put a stop to the madness!!!!

    tkeck,
A little harsh wouldn't you think. People do make mistakes. Scaring them away from 3Reef will just close the opportunity for learning.
I agree that 3 clown fish and an anemone can not live in a 10G. But there are a ton of fish and corals that can live in a 10G

Well put Jason. We've all made mistakes that has resulted in the death of animals. As long as you learn from your mistakes, it's a good thing.

I just don't understand why people refuse to read before they buy!! It's not hard simply surf the internet, read forums and look at pictures!

I don't see how this is helpful to the original poster. Unless you have something helpful to add, you may want to unsuscribe from this thread and stop posting on it.

A anemone should not be in a tank so small. And a person as inexperienced as you should not be attempting to keep a creature that requires such high degree of care that you clearly can not give. Please bring the anemone back to the fish store.

I wish I had never read this thread because im really upset about these types of situations.

Sigh. I guess nobody here has ever made a bad purchase. I'm going to close this thread as the original poster's question has been asked and answered. They can start another thread if they have more questions.
