I picked up this rock with some nice orange center zoas, but I noticed when i got home there was a white hard looking thing on the back/underside of the rock(hard to get a good pic)..put it in the tank and noticed it has what looks like little flower type polyps that come out on one side kinda blueish in color..I will try to get a better pic when halides come on,but will also have to try and get my brothers camera.I used my cell as its all i had at the time..just would like to know if its bad,good,etc..thanks in advance..8)

wow nice score! keep it in front of a strong water current, and close to the lights, whatever it is, it's a keeper, now what it is exactly don't know, other than being a hard coral favites,of some sort!?!?.

ok well i tried to get better pics.if you look at the zoa in the center, then look slight left, you can see the little polyp looking things coming from the white hard coral...oh i also busted it off the rock with the zoas so its by it self(well except the two little zoas that came with lol)

Looks like an alveopora or a goniopora. I don't think it will be as easy to break off the dead parts as you think it is but if you can, the living part of the coral should be fine, as long as you don't damage it in the process.
