What would eat both a emerald and red legs. Have had several red legs disappear on me lately, and came home today to a emerald leg perched inside one of my gorgonians.

I have 2 emeralds in my 45. Possibly they fought. Then what of the red legs?

The only thing I can think of is my brittle star.

Hope I dont get one of those in my tank. I do though have a dissapearing snail trick. I have a large mexican turbo get eaten the other day as well as a pile of smaill snail shells in a pile on a side of the tank.

I just put my brittle star into my main tank, and the emeralds apparently do not like him, they've been fighting alot. I'll probably end up having to take the star back out. Anyone know if this is common/

This may sound like a stupid question and it just may be exactly that, but are you sure that it isn't the result of molting!

Yes, and no. I did find my other emerald finally after hours of watching. So most likely, it was a molt.
As for the reds, pretty sure they don't molt their whole bodies and leave an empty shell with legs scattered everywhere.

Other inhabitants: 3 stripe, blue chromis, bicolor angel, lawnmower, psuedochromis, and possibly a engineer goby (he has not been seen for two weeks), peppermint shrimp, decorator crab, longspine urchin, green brittlestar. Normal cleanup crew.

I actually overfeed for this reason. I don't want anyone hungry. Also why I run a 30Gal refugium on a 45Gal tank.

I had thought of that, but have not been able to attribute any odd noises to that though line. All rock was either precured about 6 months or fresh base rock.
