I thought of that, and before I set up my tank, I had cleaned and then painted my walls with a moisture resistant latex paint. (Like for a bathroom). To prevent this from happening.

Yeah I never thought about it too much and one day I walked into the LFS after they just added a whole new section. Well I looked up at their ceilings and they had mold and water marks all over. They said that they had to get dehumidifiers.

I now have way too many tanks in my house. I swear one day it is going to rain in my house LOL but I can feel the humidity. I am even turned on my air during the winter cause it has caused my house to get to 82.

I am looking into dehumidifiers....need to get 2

Actually bleach will help the mold grow back stronger than ever. I used to use bleach on my bathroom tile to help fight it but ended up getting a plastic insert. The only real method to get rid of the mold is to seal it using KILZ or poly.

+500. There are some reasonably priced dihumidifiers out there. I should think about getting one as well.

as long as the mold wasnt black you should be fine....
just clean and check on it periodicly so the spores dont make you sick
i live in az where it gets 105-115 all summer well 8 months long...
i used to have a swamp cooler that did that to me.....
if you have carpet now would be the time to pull up a corner and check!!!
or in my opinion just tile the floors!!! honestly if it was as bad as you said your carpets are going to be full of it!!!

but maybe not im in a different climate....i run the ac in the winter to keep cool...!!!LOL

I worked as a drywaller and had to rip out many walls with mold in them. If its plaster I would think you would be okay, but the mold will be in the backside of the drywall. You can get a moisture detector and check walls, carpets, etc., without having to do any tearing up. It has two small probes that you stick in the wall and its gives you a reading. These holes are small enough that they are easily fixed with a little paint or just do it where it won't be noticed. And your right to use a bleach solution that is what professional mold removers use. Sorry for the long post. Hope you got everything fixed up.

You can also get a humidity tester along with your dehumidifier to make sure you have the problem in check... I should probably be looking into that also....
