    I agree.

Green Star Polyps peel off of live rock easily. Why not just peel them off and then cure the rock out of the tank?

Yes, they were soft/squishy, but did not move on their own.

Probably should have fragged the GSP's where there was no weird growth. Too late now.

I put the whole colony into a bowl of tank water, did the scrapings. Performed a freshwater rinse several times quickly to get rid of scrapings that might re-grow. Replaced the GSP's into the tank.

well, what's done is done. RIP little star polyps. They have not come back out since.

For me, the star polyps is a weed, like xenia. Xenia though I can control.
Most of the tanks I was able to almost completely eradicate the GSP but my 65g has be overrun with the darn stuff. When peeling off what will come off, some residue remains that starts it all over again. Many areas of rock surface it can't even be peeled off.

    er?

sorry it was something you don't particularly care for, but I have a 150g with very few inhabitants, and I liked the color. Plus, I live in the desert, it's the closest thing I can have that resembles grass. Doesn't matter, it's dead.

The way you make it sound is that I'd have been better off letting the sponge choke out the GSP's :(

Give it time, GSP are very resilient. As long as they are not decaying, they can come back.
When I tried to kill them off with a "Kalk" matt, it was only 3 or 4 weeks before the GSP opened up again, with no apparent damage shortly after.
When they first opened up they had no green colour, just "brownish" but the green returned soon after that.

Thanks. I left them in the tank undisturbed in their original location. Maybe just hoping for their "resurrection" but also because there are several nice fans and featherdusters in the cluster I'm hoping come back also.
