All I can offer you after reading all 9 pages is my condolences.

PM me where you're at. If it's not too far I can pack up all my test kits (I have a lot :freak3:) some reef crystals and bring 'em over.

i've read through this entire post and really feel for you, it must be incredibly frustrating and stressful to have t deal with this. The only thing that may be a problem and hasn''t been mentioned is if you store your RO water in a plastic bin, such as a rubbermaid container. If salt water is stored in these containers for long periods of time, they tend to deteriorate which could release chemicals into the water. This may sound stupid, but could something have died and be rotting in the tank?

Thanks for the input. I don't store the RO/DI water. It comes straight off the unit into the sump only when needed as dictated by the float valve in the sump.

As for death in the tank--nada. :-/

Thanks a lot for that nice offer, ALW!! I'll keep it in mind. Luna is about 35 miles away, and he offered his help as well. You're about 65 miles away.

We'll get to the bottom of this soon enough!! :)

Just an update, everyone. Thanks for tuning in to "As The Reef Turns."

Jack saw Mary again last night without the knowledge of Mary's father. As they were lighting candles in the frog room, Mary's brother came in without knocking. Talk about a brew ha!!

Whoops, got my soap operas mixed up.

Back to the matter at hand.

Yesterday I purchased some H2Ocean salt to hold me while I wait for my bucket of Coralife salt to arrive from Drs Foster 'n Smith. I did a 15 gallon change yesterday. This morning I see no difference. An hour ago I did a 5 gallon water change, and will change 5 gallons each day until this is resolved.

I think my frogspawn was looking a bit better, but it could be desperation.

Here are some pics of all my corals.

My GSP, currently in purple (closed) mode. I used a bathtub scrubber and cleaned him off per Tangster. It's worked before and doesn't seem to hurt it at all. (And no, the scrubber has never been formally introduced to a bathtub.) My trumpet is to the left.

My yellow polyp. Scraggly and thin. I think it's the first anorexic yellow polyp.

    My newer green fuzzy mushrooms.

My purple mushrooms--they take the cake for poster child shot of poor health.

    My hammer.

    My bubble. Poor kid.

The fish, it seems, are happy as clams.

Not the case unless all the fish suddenly started that behavior. The fish and corals have coexisted nicely for months before this problem.
