I understand what you're saying, BUT, lol, This dog was days to death! This dog was starved to the point his organs were shutting down and being eaten. And yes I agree, that MAYBE, there are some extenuating circumstances that caused this, dog was free for a long time/lost etc. HOWEVER, after working with animal rescues, training dogs for rescues, and just being around them, 9 out 10 times these dogs are bought as puppies, get big and annoying (Imagine a 150 pound puppy!) and then thrown in a cage or tied up out back and forgotten.

If these people had brought the dog in prior to near death I'd agree with you, and the fact that they brought it in in the middle of the night leads me to believe they felt guilty.

Once again, there "may" be a extenuating circumstance that would make me wrong, but the odds state otherwise, therefore, I am disgusted that someone could do this to such a loving dog, and I wish at the very best, punishment by law.

Sorry, I respect your opinion, I'm just sick of fixing broken dogs, seeing abused dogs, having to steal abused dogs, going to the shelter and seeing all the old and big dogs, and knowing that they will probably die soon. An animal will rarely defend itself or have the means to get help, which is why it makes me so ticked off when I see this. They should have known they were in trouble and dropped the dog off 40 pounds ago:(

Letting the dog go months ago would've been a much better option, than starving it slowly!

Sorry, this stuff makes my blood boil:-[

On a positive note, the dog was on the local news tonight and they have hundreds of requests for it. I'm in the top 3 so we will see, and I know the other 2 families, so he will end up in a great home. He is doing ok but is still to weak to stand. The vet estimates 4-8 weeks for a recovery so they know if any permanent damage was done. After a clean bill of health, they'll pick a home. If its meant to be, its meant to be, he'll have a better life now.

And his name at the shelter is Jaxon. I'm thinking Jax would sound cool!

Got a call today, recovery time is gonna be a little longer. He was starved so long his hind quarter muscles were almost completely eaten away, and its gonna take longer to grow the muscle back:(

We had seen a dog on Craigslist a while back. We decided that we wanted him so we went to the owner's home to pick him up. We saw the dog and knew right away that we needed to take him home. He was just left outside with an empty food and water bowl and he looked really thin. The dog was really nervous about everyone he saw and it took him a little while to get him used to his new surroundings. A year later and he's doing great and he has to at least try to jump on and lick everyone that he sees ::)

Awesome to hear, and thank you. Rescue dogs really know what you did and appreciate it.

Thx bruh, I'm in the top 2-3 I'm told, A friend saw the dog where its being fostered and called me. She was crying, he could barely stand up, but was nice as could be. Licked her and was really happy for the attention. She said the lady fostering him said due to his weight loss, a part of his spinal column at the base of the tail was damaged and is causing pain and could cause brain damage, but they're optimistic they caught it in time. Even with all this she said he looked super happy;)

Either way, I know the others in the running and the dog will have an awesome home, he'll prob get fattest with me though, my dogs eat good;D

Good luck cosmo, I hope you get him!

I guess everyone has a story so I'll share mine and it was where I live. Last summer a man had a pit bull puppy, about 12 weeks old. His landlord told him he couldn't keep the puppy and the guy was REALLY mad about it. Sooo, instead of surrendering the little pup to a good home the guy took him out to a field and beat him with a baseball bat while his friend stood by, watching. The puppy died---obviously. :***(
