We have a no-kill policy in our home. No bugs, no spiders, no anything. Period.

Google Baby Brianna if you have the stomach for it. And be ready to cry. What happened to cosmo's-hopeful-new-addition-to-the-family pooch and the puppy that was beaten to death is horrible. What happened to Baby Brianna is beyond my comprehension.

i have to agree.......I hate people and much prefer animals!

We work at a shelter that has just became a rescue within the last year. It is amazing, and truly sad to see how some people treat their animals. Dogs with cigarrette burns, malnourished, broken jaws from being kicked, etc. I pray that the dane recovers and has a long life........i hope it is not too late.

Rescue dogs are the best. I have owned 2 in my life, and every cat is a rescue. Oscar my avatar was my last dog rescue. He was from a pug rescue that took him from a breeding puppy mill (smaller than most mills) Originally this breeder was in alaska and moved to the midwest. Well we had a horrific summer and every dog but 2 (oscar and 1 other pug) died from heat exposure. They had the kennels outside with no shade/protection and no food/water. Pugs and other short nosed breeds can not tolerate heat. I had him for 2 years (he had epilepsy, heart issues and breathing issues) I had to put him down after he had an extensive surgery trying to correct his trachea in attempts to keep him from passing out (he would be walking and just pass out....his trachea was collapsing upon itself). Unfortunately the surgery did ok (he was miserable afterwards), but a few weeks later he went into major organ failure and I couldnt bear to see him suffer anymore. Still miss that dog!

My other rescue was a mutt that was abandoned in an empty field with her litter mates and a cat. It was in the middle of winter and was below zero. They were only able to get Maggie because she would not leave her cat......who had died of exposure. Her littermates took off but Maggie laid snuggled around this dead cat. She had bruises all over her, her eye swelled shut and cried anytime anybody touched her. She was so frightened when we got her that she would not walk. We had to carry this 40 lb dog into the house. She hid under the dining room table and wouldnt come out. Finally I brought in my cat and put her under the table and Maggie finally came out to see the cat. She was ABSOLUTELY THE BEST DOG!

I hope you get the dane, however at least we know whereever he goes he will be loved!

Thank you for your work, and sadly I've seen the same too many times.

I help train dogs for rescues, but when I became a single father of a 4 month old, I had to stop due to not having the time or ability to bring abused dogs into my home with my young son around, but about 4-5 years ago, an old rescue I worked with in college called. They had a 3 year old Boston Terrier with ADD and OCD. I laughed at them and said yeah right, ADD and OCD, it just needs trained. They said it had been in and out of 30 homes and always returned within the week. I sighed and said bring her to me for a few weeks and I'll train her. Long story short, she had been beaten and her tail docked to short, and she was left, well, "special". She would chase her tail, and bark at a wall till she passed out from exhaustion, unless you stopped her. She had seizures often. Long story short...again...last year, those 2 weeks turned into years, and her seizures got to the point i had to shoot her during a Gran mal.:(

My 2 dogs now, had worse pasts, but are amazing dogs. I dread the thought of the medical bills this guy is gonna cost somebody, but we each have our way of giving back, and I help abused dogs. To be honest, my brain says to let him go to one of the other good homes, but my heart wants to spoil the crap out of him and let him get FAT;) well at least chunky. lol

Good luck man! Seems like you will have your hands full, but it is good to hear he will be going to a good home. How is the 75g running?
