Update: The dog is doing better, but has a long recovery. But he's getting some strength up and seems to be on his way to a slow full recovery!:)

Good luck cosmo from the sounds of it you'll probably get him.its really disgusting what people do.there is no excuse for that.if the former owner couldn't afford to keep it im sure there would have been tons of families who would have taken it.my little girl is a rescue.she was chained to a staircase in an abandoned house for 2 weeks before a shelter got her(in Kentucky).she was just a baby only a month old.no food or water other then a leak in the roof.2 days before she was to be put down a rotti rescue in pa took her.I think it was ment to happen.my parents said no dogs ever again after our last dog died years ago.something made me look on petfinder(great site).saw her picture and sent them an email that I would take her asap.she said there was someone going to take her that weekend and if I wanted her id be second in line and to have my home inspection done just incase.I scheduled it for the next day.broke the news to my parents and they said I could have the dog or my fish.sadly I said ill take the dog.next day a local rescue came and inspected the house and yard and we had a green light plus a recommendation that the dog goes to me bc I work at a very large animal hospital.I got a call shortly after that the dog was mine.the other people couldn't take her.got thhe adress and off we were to the west side of pa.we didn't know where she was in pa until that point.most of pa is afew hrs from me but not there lol.I got home with her and my parents said I could keep my 210,my nano and my mantis tank.I almost hit the roof I was so happy lol.I just had to sell/junk all of the non essentials.she's almost 9 months now and the best thing to ever happen to me.

it still amazes me that people can be that cruel just look at the link in my sig. but I see it everyday and it is nice to know that there are good people out there that are willing to help and more than able to do good things in the world.
hope he starts looking better soon and agreed I wanna see updated pics of the recovery,

I dare say there is a deep dark place that they can stay in forever and that would be to good for them.

Agreed everyone, thanks. I'll try to stop by this week, they kind of stopped the visits because the dog is at a ladies house and she was being bombarded by people. But i'll see if i can get up there;)

ok, just got a message from the shelter, the dog is doing great and gaining weight back at an amazing rate. However, the foster home has decided to keep him. Oh well, I know the lady, and she'll take great care of him. I'm gonna go visit this weekend so, I'll try to get some pic's;)

Got a phone call today, for a English Mastiff:) My friend got a new job and can't take care of it. Granted, not a heart warming rescue, but she was gonna go to the pound. 2 year old girl with papers. Only Bad thing is, this is a 160# dog that will max out my space and money, and not allow me anymore rescuing!

But a English Mastiff, for free, how do i pass that up? Love those Big Galoots;)
