So here is my new 65g. It has been up and running about 1.5 months with fish and coral only added about 20 days ago. Fish seem to be doing great, coral not so great. But I just added the new light. Prior to the LEDs you see in picture 1 I just had an old set of T5s borrowed from my LFS until my new lights came in.
Picture 3 is my tank covered up. The only spot in my house was near a window and my wife likes to open these windows during the day. So she kindly made me a tank curtain.
I hope to add a Kole Yellow eye tang, powder blue tang, 2 azure damsels, and a year from now a gree mandarin.
Also 2-3 clams, anemone, as well as tons of LPS and some SPS corals.

    Appreciate any thoughts/recommendations

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
LOL on the curtain. I wonder how the fish will feel about that.

    Tank looks great.

I will be interested to see how you like the Razor long term.

Welcome to 3reef! I like the tank (and the curtain :) )

I wouldn't add a Powder Blue Tang due to stress and size, although you may be able to keep the Kole tang. It also may be hard to keep a Mandarin due to a lack of food. And if you decide to get Damsels, I would add them last to avoid any territorial issues ;)

I agree on the Powder Blue, although I don't think the 36" length of a 65gal is enough for even a Kole :( At least not a mature one.

Welcome to the hobby and I'm with you on the learning. This is a great place for it.

Ask lots of questions like you did here before making any big moves, and you'll save yourself a lot of time and frustration.

    Good luck!
