    Very pretty! I've always loved Discus, just heard they are very hard to keep. Are they really?

    I don't think so. They require a cleaner tank than many other freshwater fish, and plenty of water changes. The water can't be very hard or alkaline. Other than that, nothing to it.

    Now BREEDING them is another story! The parents both tend the eggs, which remain attached to the surface they're laid on for a couple days after hatching, then break loose and swim free, feeding on the slime coat of the parents!

    I've come as close as free-swimming fry, but they got eaten before before they were big enough to eat their own food.:(
