okay. i have a total of 130 watts pc lighting...yes it stinks. now can I build my own fixture with a retrofit kit to sit next to my fixture. I don't care about the look of it but it's ability to work. would 2 x 65 watt pc plus 2 x 54 watt t5ho be good to house softies, lps, and maybe one acro at the top of the tank?

    For the PCs?

Yeah you can build an easy little canopy for them. I would recommend some cooling like a pc fan or something. You could build it with planks of wood. There are plans here like I am talking about: DIY Enclosures

That would be great on a 55 gallon. I would just keep the sps guys at the top. They just cant get enough light, lol.
