I'll reboot tonight and see what's up. It is running really fast since I cleaned the registry.

I must of missed this. What is this exactly?

If you decide to reformat your hard drive and reinstall windows... The suggestion was to write zeros to all the sectors on your hard drive so there wouldn't be any leftover files or dangling participles :)

    Hey Matt!

Happy New Year! I haven't been around for a while. Saw this post and thought I would throw my 2 pennies in.

    1. when you tried to install the fonts, did you just copy the font files to the FONTS folder? If you did that probably did not install them properly. Try this.
    a. Put the font files in a folder by themselves e.g. C:\fontfiles
    b. Open the C:\WINDOWS\FONTS folder.
    c. Click of 'File', 'Install new font'
    d. On the lower left, navigate to the folder in step A above. When you select the folder, it will scan the fonts and list them in the upper dialog.
    e. Make sure the 'copy to fonts folder' check box is checked
    f. click the 'SELECT ALL' button and then click OK
If a font already exists, it will ask if you want to overwrite (your choice here)

    2. From the descriptions in the thread, I agree with the 'No Virus' crowd.

    3. If you still need to get your screen fonts back, try right click on the desktop, properties, on the first tab 'themes' select the windows XP theme. That should reset everything to the default colors and fonts.

    Hope this helps you out.

    Mike

    Thanks Michael.

    Guess what?

Today I received a Windows Automatic Update and it kept annoying me about rebooting, so I did and for the first time in over a week it rebooted without deleting my fonts!!!!!! 8) YAY!

I was hoping it would do that with the update. I guess it ironed some things out or changed the system just another to get it to stop the hiccups.

    I AM PSYCHED!

Thanks to all for your help. I appreciate it a lot.

    :)
