Can someone tell me if you can use a standard spa pump as a circulation pump on a fish tank. I can't think of a reason why not unless it has something to do with the types of seals involved. Thanks

I wouldn't do it. Hard to tell what kind of metals are in that pump.

Most pond/pool/spa pumps run copper and/or bronze bushings and would poison a tank with inverts or coral. Also, they are not designed to be run in a solution as corrosive as saltwater.

Plus the seals are not made for the harsh environment of saltwater.
